SBA Student Devices
2023-2024 - All SBA Students 8th Grade and up are required to have their own device for classroom use.
- K-5th Grades - in classroom iPads and iPad Carts are supplied whenever needed in classroom
- 6-7th Grades - iPad Carts are supplied whenever needed in classroom
- 8th Grade - iPad or Laptop (students may use an iPad but we require they use a laptop for High School courses)
- 8th Grade students taking High School credit classes - Laptop
- 9th-12th Grades - Laptop
NOTE: Beginning 24-25 School Year, 8th grade will require a laptop (23-24 year is still iPad OR laptop)
iPads
iPads are the primary student device for 8th Grade used to create and submit class materials. iPad requirements are detailed in the Student Handbook for the specific schools (MS and HS). SBA has a 1:1 Device program in order to keep quality and current technology in the hands of students so they build the experience needed to succeed in life, work and ministry.

iPad Requirements:
All 8th grade students using iPads are required to own at least their own Apple iPad for internet access, school-related email communications and preparation of documents and repost required to complete classroom assignments.
Minimum - Apple Air2 or above with at least 32GB of storage
Recommended - iPad Gen 7 with 64GB of storage
Best - iPad Gen 10 or greater with at least 64GB of storage
What NOT to get!
Any iPad Mini - the screen space has proven to not be enough for classwork and many of the Apps student use daily
Any Android Tablets - these have proven to not serve students well

Laptops
Laptops are the primary student device for 10th Grade through 12th students to manage, create and submit class materials. Laptop requirements are detailed in the High School Student Handbook. Minimum - 13” MacBook (Air or Pro) - at least 8GB RAM & 128GB hard drive.
Recommended - MacBook (Air or Pro) - 16GB RAM & 512GB hard drive.
Best - Current Apple MacBook Air - Apple M2 chip with 8-core CPU, 7-core GPU, 8GB RAM and 256GB SSD storage
