Quarantine & Isolation Timelines

IF POSITIVE: Return to Campus for Individual that Test Positive

  1. Did your child test with an (a) at-home test OR (b) tested at doctor's office?

(a) IF utilized an at-home test, then email Nurse Anne return to campus date (day 0 is the day his symptoms started; can return to campus on day 6) OR if you need help calculating return to campus date, then email Nurse Anne the date symptoms started; Nurse Anne will email you back return to campus date.

(b) IF tested positive at a doctor's office, the doctor will give you the date your children can leave isolation; that will be the date he/she can return to campus.

  1. Email nurse@silverdaleba.org the following information:

(1) return to campus date (must be 24 hours fever free without fever reducing medications as well as symptoms significantly improved)

(2) copy of test results (for at home test, email picture of test strip with phone next to it for date and time) or doctors note stating tests results. Test results (picture of test strip and/or dr note) are used to cover absences with attendance.

  1. For Silverdale siblings of positive case: if you choose to quarantine siblings, please let me know what day we can expect them back OR if you choose to not quarantine siblings, it is recommended not required that siblings mask for 10 days following their last exposure to the positive case. Please let me know which route you choose.

  2. Complete the COVID Questionnaire for the child that tested positive.

  3. Reach out to teachers for assignments.


IF EXPOSED: Return to Campus for Close Contacts

  1. If you choose to quarantine, please let Nurse Anne know what day we can expect your child(ren) back OR if you choose to not quarantine, it is recommended not required that those exposed mask for 10 days following their last exposure to the positive case.

  2. Email Nurse Anne at nurse@silverdaleba.org return to campus date for your child if you choose to quarantine.

  3. Reach out to teachers for assignments.

            • Isolation (positive): Day 0 is the onset of symptoms. Day 6 can leave isolation as long as symptom free and fever free 24 hours prior to return. Recommended masking for 5 days following.

            • Quarantine (exposure to positive): Day 0 is the last exposure to a positive case. Day 6 can leave quarantine as long as symptom free and fever free 24 hours prior to return. Recommended masking for 5 days following. Recommended test on day 5 or sooner if symptomatic.
